Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Economics, Education, Law and Social Sciences upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and is committed to publishing original, high-quality research. To ensure the credibility and originality of published content, we implement a strict plagiarism policy as follows:
1. Definition of Plagiarism
- Plagiarism is defined as the practice of using someone else’s work, ideas, or expressions without proper acknowledgment. This includes but is not limited to verbatim copying, paraphrasing, or reproducing someone else’s data, findings, or interpretations as one’s own.
2. Plagiarism Detection
- All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reputable plagiarism detection software. This check is performed at the initial submission stage and prior to final acceptance to ensure that all content meets our originality standards.
3. Acceptable Similarity Index
- The journal accepts a maximum similarity index of 20% from the plagiarism detection software, with individual sources not exceeding 3% similarity. Text overlap in technical terms, references, and commonly used phrases may be exempt from this threshold if deemed acceptable by the editorial team.
4. Actions Taken in Case of Plagiarism
- Minor Overlap (less than 20%): If minor similarity is detected, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for immediate correction and proper citation.
- Significant Overlap (20-30%): If significant overlap is found, the manuscript will be returned to the authors with a request to revise and resubmit only after removing or paraphrasing the overlapping content and properly citing the sources.
- Severe Plagiarism (above 30%): If severe plagiarism is detected, the submission will be rejected immediately, and further submissions from the authors may be disallowed for a period of time. In cases of extreme infringement, the journal reserves the right to inform the authors' affiliated institutions.
5. Post-Publication Plagiarism Handling
- If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal will investigate thoroughly. Depending on the severity, measures may include issuing a correction, retraction, or expression of concern. The journal will also update the online version of the article with an explanation of the corrective action taken.
6. Author Responsibilities
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and properly cites all sources. Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools before submission to identify and correct any unintentional similarities.
Our strict plagiarism policy reflects the International Journal of Economics, Education, Law and Social Sciences' commitment to upholding academic integrity and promoting trust in scholarly research.
